When should I buy a digital camera?

Question by appy: When should I buy a digital camera?
I have heard that there will be cheap sales of electronic goods around the thanksgiving time. I am planning to buy a point and shoot digital camera. I was wondering what sites I should start looking (bestbuy or something) As of now I don't see cams that cheap (As people generally claim it will be). So any suggestion where and when to start looking?

wow, Best Buy let you down? I would say Wal-Mart, but the best deals are around christmas time.

  1. Wait till Black Friday and go to either K-mart if you have one near you or go to Wal-Mart. They will be the cheapest @ those places.

  2. I would figure out what cameras you really want. I like to use Amazon and Best Buy to get specifications and read reviews from people who've already purchased the item.

Here are some web sites that gathers info on upcoming Black Friday sales and lets you cruise to see who will have what. Keep returning to the sites since they updated it continuously.

One of the most important things about buying electronics, for me is, the abilty to return it. I would gladly pay a little more at one store if their return policy is geared more for the consumer.
The only thing I do not like about Best Buy is their return policy. They charge you a percentage of the original price for a "restocking fee".
I got tired of WalMart's return situation, too. The lines were hideous, and certain items they will not allow returns on.
The best return policies around are: Costco, Target and Amazon.
Target's is the best: 90 day returns in most cases, and also they give you back the difference if something you buy goes on sale within a certain period after you purchased. Not to mention, if you use a credit/debit card and lose your receipt, the store you purchased it from can look up the receipt using the same card.

Good luck. Hope you get what you want at a great deal.

  3. i have always had sucess around the middle of feb.selection is scarce but new models come out around march,so if you know what you want already , kind of keep an eye out for it , and wal-mart is just about the best place to buy it , they have a great extended warentee , reasonably priced , and an easy return policy ,

  7. January is usually the best time to buy electronic products as they are trying to get rid of all the old stock
