A camera like that will most likely focus on the thing closest to it. I would make sure that the subject is closest and centered in the camera.

theres usually a setting on the camera that has a picture of a flower and its called the MACRO setting.. it focuses on close ups really easily u just have to stay really still till it snaps the picture
ReplyDeleteA lot of the same rules apply to both digital and film cameras. Number one is that it is easier to get a sharp image if you are not too close to the subject. Once you get to 10 feet or so, the camera focuses on "infinity" and everything will be at its clearest. Besides, if the camera (again, digital or film) is *really* cheap, it may not have an adjusting focus, so it automatically focuses on "infinity."
ReplyDeleteThe other main rule is to hold the camera steady. If your hands are shaking, or you are in, say, a moving car, it is 1000 times harder to get a good image. More expensive digital cameras have automatic image stabilization, but your cheap camera almost certainly does not.
Keep in mind that no camera can produce pictures that are sharper than the lens in the camera. A cheap camera is not going to have a super-sharp lens. So, you are right not to expect too much. But if you don't try for closeups and hold the camera still, you will get perfectly acceptable pictures.
Have fun and good luck!!
