  1. I bought this camera at BestBuy because i wanted a compact camera with an SLR qualities & said this is the camera, but after testing it for several weeks I had to returned why? because this camera was assembled in CHINA says it all.The Quality CMOS Sensor is not good.
I have another sony DSC-HX9V and is an amazing camera, this camera was assembled in Japan, tremendous difference.
Do not be a fool and read the back of the box where these cameras are, where they are assembled.

  2. No doubt the RX100 is fabulous compact shooter, probably among the most advanced...however, use caution, don't think for one minute this can 'destroy' or even come close to any ILC (APS-C or M43). No f%$King way! Shoot portraits with the RX100, then take the same portrait with an OMD EM5 or PEN EPL-5 with 45 f1.8. The RX100 will get smoked and left in the dust. Let's get serious. No way this comes close to any ILC. However, among compact point & shoots...probably the best.

Agree. All talk, no demos. Had my RX 100 since last year. Fantastic, do-it-all camera beyond your wildest expectations.

  9. This is a good video. However, there was no showing-- no evidential discussion. What the camera can actually do, especially regarding still photos, was largely absent. The host mentions that he has had the camera for a weekend. It might have been better if he had shot a number of photos before making the video and then discussed them. Video capacity was over-discussed. He does mention specifications and repeatedly says that he was astounded by the camera but offered no evidence as to why.

  10. The image quality is better than an nex7, fuji x20, etc. at least at lower ISO.

  12. So he likes the camera?

  13. I would think the canon s100 or s110. The s100 is cheaper. If you don't need wifi you could just get the canon s100.

  17. What is the best camera compared to this one that might be smaller?
I ride my bike everywhere and size really matters. I was thinking canon s110

  18. Philip Bloom did a short video of popcorn with this camera, was actually pretty good. Not as good as his new Canon 1DC 4k DSLR camera which is more for video then photos.

  19. lx7 beast rx100 video IN LOW LIGHT. However, in bright light it seems like they're both about the same. I can't decide between the rx100 and lx7!

  22. I wouldn't say 60p is better per se, it depends on the story you want to tell, although I think I know what you mean, maybe describing it as higher bitrate or more taxing on the system would be better to describe 60p vs the conventional 30/24p

  23. the interface is a bit awkward, like adjusting white balance, it mixes up kelvin adjustment with white balance shift for some reason.
