  3. in my experience it was the cold temperatures killing the batteries that caused problems for cameras...one thing to consider would be one of those cheap $ 10 underwater cameras, thats what i've used and if they can handle being underwater they can handle being dropped in teh snow--kodak makes a good one

Oregon Scientific makes a helmet mounted or handheld bullet cam it's $ 120 and can be ordered from them direct.

GoPro makes both a helmet or a wrist mount camera for $ 170 and $ 140 respectively.

  5. I've only seen one camera that's really built to handle the kind of conditions you'd encounter snowboarding... the Olympus Stylus SW790. It's shock, water, freeze and crushproof... so you can drop it in the snow (or underwater for that matter), sit on it, bring it out in 10 degree weather, and it holds up. It's pricey at $ 300, but they go for much, much cheaper on eBay.

Other people have recommended some decent products... but none of them are moistureproof as this camera is. The GoPro's batteries last about 5 minutes in winter temperatures, and the oregon scientific camera isn't really a traditional digital camera.
